A.P. Warrior

As I studied a talented field of 3 year olds a week prior to the 2006 Kentucky Derby, I decided I was going to make Barbaro my favorite. I stuck to the formula that had me pick a winner the only other two times I'd ever bet a race. That was Aleet Alex in the Preakness and Afleet Alex in the Belmont. After watching The Kentucky Derby in 2005 (didn't bet), I said Afleet Alex was the most athletic horse in this race even though he came in third. I felt the same way about Barbaro.

Then at the last minute, LIKE AN IDIOT, I got caught up in some articles I read that eluded to how great of a finisher A.P Warrior was. So instead of going with my heart, I bet A.P. Warrior. I don't think A.P. Warrior has crossed the finish line yet at The Kentucky Derby 132.

I just looked at the Breeders Cup website and saw A.P. Warrior ranks 8th in the Classic Division. Does this mean, he will be running in th Breeders Cup? I'm assuming since he is ranked 8th, he's had some degree of success since the Derby. Can anyone shed some light on A.P. Warrior for me.

can't tell you about the horse but I will lecture you the same way i do to steve when he is moaning about his selections (when he has stepped away from his first decision and loses)...never second guess your first opinion...inevitably it will lead you away from whatever sound reasoning you had in the first place and you will kick yourself for it....only change your bets if you are going to place them both..

BTW I never take my own advice so there is no reason why you should either:D :D

Trust me, I have beaten myself up everday since the Derby for not going with Barbaro.

When is the field for the Breeders Cup officially decided?

The field is drawn Wednesday before the Breeders Cup Saturday.

I couldn't decide between Barbaro and Point Determined, so I played some of my bets with both of them on top. Missed most, but cashed the trifecta.
