Secrets of a Westminster Dog Show Judge
http://gardenandgun.com/blog/secrets...dog-show-judge As defined by the American Kennel Club, a breed standard is “a word or picture describing how the perfect dog of a breed should look, move, and behave.” When it comes to Labs, Threlfall notes the dense, straight, and short coat, exceptionally thick skin, broad, chiseled skull, and powerful tail as some of the breed’s chief defining characteristics. “We’re not just giving the dogs a nice massage while they’re on stage, you know,” Threlfall says, laughing. “It’s anatomy. We’re feeling for irregularities and differences from the standard in the dog’s skeletal structure, coat, skin, and a variety of other factors.” |
Nice pics. I particularly like the one of the German Shorthair. I have never owned one, but I became friends with my college biology teacher and he had one. She was a wonderful hunting dog. What's your connection to the dog show? Just like to watch or are you a dog fancier?

I agree . I think CJ wins it in an upset

How's that boss ? But then I'm sure you loved the winner too:)

Tina liked the winner. Of the group winners, I liked the Samoyed. I'm a Vizsla fan and am constantly annoyed that they never get Group. I think the whole thing is very political and controlled by the breeders.
