Derby Post Positions Set . . . Any Observations or Feelings?

Not sure if this gives any of the so called "favorites" an advantage or not. The horse that is fit and ready and has the classic lungs and legs will win . . it's that simple. There is no American Pharaoh in the this group, that's for sure .. . or is there one hiding in the weeds?

Hi DG

I'm more worried about the weather on this one than the post positions. A couple of these have won in the slop, so I may take a longer look at them.

Your are right rain: 100% Thu, 60% Fri and 70% showers on Saturday. Saturday night clear and Sunday looks beautiful! Easily impact some races and the Derby perhaps and may not tell us then who the bets horse really is as we've seen in the past!

What is the rain percentage for Saturday? That has been my problem, capping for dirt then when i get to the track it's sloppy

Chance Of A Lifetime In A Lifetime Of Chance

IF IT'S ONE THING I'VE LEARNED
OVER MANY RACING YEARS
IS TO GO WITH MY HEART
WHICH OFTEN BRINGS TEARS :(

BUT THEN IN SOME YEARS
IT ALL WORKS OUT RIGHT
WHEN MY LONG-SHOT COMES THRU
AND MY HEART SINGS ALL NITE

SILVER CHARM, CHARISMATIC
GIACOMO ~ MY SWEET GRAY :{>:
THUNDER GULCH & GRINDSTONE
FOR ME THEY DID PAY! :$:

SO FOR THOSE WHO PLAY CHALK
A WIN SOMETIMES IT BRINGS
BUT FOR ME IT'S A LONG-SHOT
THAT MAKES MY HEART SING!

THE WEATHER, THE NOISE
THESE 3 YEAR OLDS FACE
SO ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN
IN A 20-HORSE RACE!

I'M TOTALLY AGAINST 20
14 IT SHOULD BE
BUT 'TRADITION' TRUMPS SAFETY
THAT'S ALL THEY CAN SEE

SO WIN, LOSE OR TIE
THE MAIN THING OF ALL
IS THAT 20 RUN SAFE
AND NOT ONE HORSE DOES FALL!

Hi Cruzan

Try this one- then select hourly and scroll over for Friday and Sat

https://www.wunderground.com/cgi-bin...uisville%2C+ky

Looks like about 50% on Friday from 3p-6p; Saturday is 20-50% from 9a-3p, but lower later in the afternoon

Overall, I've got this bookmarked for weather at all tracks

Did you read my previous post? Now rain chances for Sat are 60-70% throughout the day but who really knows. Sunday is perfect . . . go figure! Go with it as you may. Does it really matter since we know so little about any horse, prime or not, this year is a crap shoot, so watch one horse prove me wrong but I seriously doubt it.

cruzan200246 05-04-2017 09:56 PM

I did Don. I thought that was your prediction and not the weatherman:D:D

Thanks Ryonker1
