Justify = New Update

Undefeated Triple Crown winner Justify will be evaluated after some filling in his left front ankle was discovered, his connections announced July 10. :(

That will be the pits if doesn't run any more this year, the pits. :(: Let's hope it's not an infection or maybe that would be better. Treat it and it goes away.

All you real horse people know way more about this than I do.

Not Funny

Mmmaaaybe... take a look at other sites. Lots of people believe he will be retired. My "LOL" was not about his setback, it was in anticipation of many people believing he will be retired.

Here's a poll from tonight:

No. I'e followed that devious white haired mind for a long time. He doesn't want to bring him back yet. Not in a race. He can't move 2 feet without a reporter, a blogger, or some total loon wanting the next exclusive . Yeah, he usually loves it, but the loons are very thick this time.
Arrogate blew up on him. He doesn't want that this time. Where is the B C this year? He will aim for that, probably 2 good races as preps, maybe one, depends on how the horse acts and reacts. To say not too much about that contentious crew of owners, who we seem to need score cards to keep track of. The ankle is to give him time to come up with a plausible explanation. In other words, "Gimme a break!".

Assuming all works out, I see the Travers and the BC Classic. Or at least I hope that's what works out.

The fan in me makes me want to agree with you. But time is running out for Justify to return to training and prepare for the Travers.

We've seen this routine all too many times before with high profile horses that have significant residual value in the breeding shed. The intention is stated to keep the horse in training for some unspecified period, but some relatively minor injury occurs that causes the connections to rethink their positions. The need to protect that residual breeding value, usually many times the value of any purses that could be won, usually wins out. I can't blame them; they are business people as well as sportsmen.

Yes "money makes the world go around, the world go around, money makes ...... etc etc etc. Too bad we just cant be happy doing everything we do for the fun of. Money breeds greed breeds power "and that's the way it is".

Well, now, this is interesting. May mean nothing but still, interesting... take a look at this Twitter thread. Rumors (?) are flying!

Who can substantiate this info about "He’s been removed from the BC Classic futures at Wynn Las Vegas"?

Edit: found this link to an article

It means I'm wrong, I suppose.
I did see something on the paddock page here that says he may make it back.
It's turning into an all out war there. If you go look, pack riot gear.

No surprise here. But, do what's in the horse's best interest is the important thing. Just incredibly disappointing. Was kind of hoping they go in the 2019 Pegasus, too. Oh well.
