First at CD
Speed held in the first. Maryfield close to gate to wire over 6f, PVal up. Morner gets up for second. I bet an exacta box of Morner with another speed horse, Prospective Saint - down $2 to start the day.

the Ack Ack
I love Papi chullo. But the next time he runs somebody remind me not to bet on him. I have to stop losing money on this horse:D

Speed horses are doing well on this track today... anyone think Cash Included is going to be able to handle the cross country trip and the cold well enough to win this or is Anna the best bet?

Speed and the inside
Race 2 It's No Joke wins laying just off and taking off on the inside.
Looks like speed and the inside might be the place to be. Nice to cash a ticket before the Juvenile F&M with Rebecca Maker, one of my fave trainers. Dreaming Of Anna likely to benefit from her inside post given the first two races. Good Luck everyone. PSH |
Dreaming of Anna 8-5
She opens up at 8-5.
I will play her in Pick 3s but no win bet at those odds in a full field. Guess word is out on her. |

Uh, oh. Matt Carothers says he likes my PH pick Octave. This one should love the stretch out to 2 turns and seems as good as anything in here. Not betting anything in the Juvie races - young developing horses can go any direction.

Ann - Mile question
Ann:
Seems like Araafa has become everyone's choice in the Mile. What can you tell me about him? Pedigree and racing wise. Is he the standout that everyone seems to be making him. Thanks, Paul |

Same thing happen to me with the winner in the 1st courtesy of Steve. Got busy with the kids and made no wager. Did get winner in the 2nd but could have should have had the double.
Sorry.... PSH |
Araafa beat George Washington in the Irish 2000 Guineas in soft going, then beat the French Guineas winner in a G1 at Royal Ascot. He and George were well clear of the best older milers in Europe at Ascot in the G1 QEII last out. With George going in the Classic, Araafa has the best CV of the Euros.
His minus - he lost his only two races on left handed courses (Newbury and York) as a 2yo and he might like a bit more cut in the ground. I'm looking very closely at Echo of Light, a progressive 4yo who has won twice left-handed this term, and won the mile race on Arc weekend - Dettori up. |
Before they load...Octave!!!
|
octave looks good.
value would have to be cotton blossom at 18-1.... |
Open race to the Favorite
Almost made it with Octave. Ran a good race. Okay if the fav wins at PH, doesn't change the standing much.

This just another example why you should NEVER count out a Rahy filly with some talent!!!

Dreaming of Anna
Speed on the inside didn't hurt Anna.
Will take th 5/2. Alive in doubles with 3 horses. NIce to start the day with two winners in a row. Boy, those horses look even better in High Def! PSH |

And she looked beautiful.... Nice size and a great chestnut color. |
Street Sense
Had a $5 backup DD and $5 exacta so i can't complain.
Street Sense was definitely in a league of his own. Inside is insane today. Last minute left SS off Pick 3 and put Scat Daddy in. All well. So far so good. PSH |
