September 8 Kentucky Downs Points Picks go here

Real Quiet has selected Kentucky Downs, a European style track in bluegrass country, as our venue for this week. We will be handicapping 10 turf races on a course that is not just an oval and even has some undulations. Should be very interesting and a real challenge.

Please have your selections for the points contest posted on this thread not later than first post of 1:25 PM Central time (that's 2:25 PM Eastern and 12:25 PM Mountain time).

Best of luck to all and thank you to Plenilune for scoring.

***question***

Since KY DOWNS is ALL TURF

Do They Even Have A DIRT track
OR ~ do they just run on the TURF anyway in spite of heavy rains?

SO THE QUESTION IS:
Should We Include MTO / OFF Turf Separate Pix?

No need to be confused. Please read a post I included on another thread after RQ chose the venue. There are no MTO's listed on the entry list because they only have a turf course.

The challenge, of course, is to ascertain which horses might prefer turf with a bit of cut in it and which ones like their turf firm.

A question was posted on this thread about what happens at Kentucky Downs if the races have to be taken off of the turf.

That question was answered today in the most dramatic fashion. This from this morning's DRF:

"... officials at Kentucky Downs announced shortly after 8 a.m. Central that the card has been postponed in its entirety to Wednesday.

Rain that pounded other areas in this region finally found its way here in the early-morning hours, and there was no sign of a let-up, making the prospect of hosting racing today unfeasible..."

What a difference a day makes. I'm just glad that heavy rain didn't occur yesterday.
