Balletto 11-04-2006 03:23 PM

I know where you're coming from but the timing is poor. Hold off for a while. Please. :(

sumitas 11-04-2006 03:24 PM

Cajungator26 11-04-2006 03:27 PM

It Is Past The Time>>>How Many More Must Die On The Dirt ???

Balletto 11-04-2006 03:31 PM

This argument has been beaten to death on this board time and time again. The death has put a huge damper on the sport and on us, as fans. She was a favorite of many and a champion caliber horse. Dont let this become a poly debate. Let us just remember a beautiful and talented filly. The arguments can be saved for tomorrow.

Come on Sumitas, this just isnt the right time. This argument isnt what we need right after her death. Like Balletto said, lets just remember her.

Real classy thing to say. How about take it for what it's worth and just chuck the needless argument about dirt vs poly. In the TRUE best interest of the animal, this sport would not exist. Period. If you cant deal with people's interest in making things somewhat safer for the animals, you should just get out all together, because that is where things are going.

Listen here little girl, I already have a momma, so keep your comments to yourself. I hate the stuff and it hasn't been around long enough to say it's a for sure life saver. I just hate the knee jerk reaction to change everything over to the stuff. Me I think they should just run them on the turf. I've been betting horses at Oaklawn Park since the late eighties and they hardly have any breakdowns there so it ain't every dirt track out there trust me. Churchill Downs has one of the best Dirt tracks in the world just an accident. In the words of Forrest Gump $hit Happens.

Very well said, Balletto...

How about we talk about it later on tonight in the poly room?
I'm still in a bit of grief.
I know we all grieve in different ways. Lets discuss this later. OK?
Thanks,
DTS

I thank you.

And I apologize if I have upset any Pine Island fans.

You didnt upset anyone. I whole-heartedly agree with you... safety of the animals and people involved should always be first and foremost. I always appreciate your thoughts and posts... but like its been said... everyone was/is just in shock with the incident.

I disagree, we had a unfortunate fatal breakdown in the turf a couple of years ago...no matter the surface, the animals are always susceptible to injury
