Jockey David Cohen gets 60 Days; Paco Lopez too..

Oaklawn stewards have suspended jockey David Cohen 60 days for hitting another jockey 4 times with his whip during a race. He’s battling for leading rider title. I watched the replay and it didn’t look like anything to me, but then I thought a 2 minute minor should have been the call, not ejection and suspension for Toronto Maple Leaf Nazem Kadri for the little love tap on Debrusk.

60 days as well for human cannonball Paco Lopez for his antics in Sunday GP nightcap.

Didn’t Cohen admit that he intentionally hit another rider with his whip?

Did his best Evel Knievel on that one.

Mike Welsch ~ @DRFWelsch: According to Gulfstream officials jockey Paco Lopez's 60 racing days suspension has been reduced to 30 racing days. Under terms of the agreement Lopez must also donate $10,000 to the PDJF & serve volunteer hours at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He can resume riding on June 15.

I wish they didn’t reduce it but the donation and volunteer work is a nice touch. I hope this opens his eyes a little...but if he was still being reckless after what he did to Romero Maragh I’m not sure anything will. Unfortunate too, because horses seem to run for him.

He never seems to get the message though Hossy. There are guys that are aggressive, think an Eibar Coa, and then there's Lopez, who's totally reckless.

I agree. Ironic that you bring up Coa, considering it was Paco who ended his career.

I was wondering what happened to side bar Coa
