Ruffian, the defending champion and current standings leader, has chosen Parx as our contest venue for this week. So, we will travel to Bensalem, PA for Pennsylvania Derby Day, the biggest day of the year for PA racing.

Our card will be limited to only races 4-13, but that will still include the Grade 1 Cotillion and the aforementioned Grade 1 Pennsylvania Derby, along with a number of very competitive races.

Please have your selections for the points contest posted on this thread not later than 1:52 PM Eastern time, the scheduled post time for Race 4.

Lots of scratches in the early listing. This early there may be a couple more to come. Some of them expected due to horses' being cross entered in other races (i.e. Monongahela, whom I thought had a real chance to upset the big favorite). A number of the scratches were possible contenders, leaving many of us on a lot of the same horses in at least 4 of the races for lack of realistic alternatives.

Watching the Parx coverage on NBC. Looks like a very good crowd, and a veritable sea of bright orange caps.

Great ride by Sophie Doyle on Street Band in the Cotillion. She just took her time, got good position and benefitted from what seemed to be a very quick pace.
