Venue for September 28 - Belmont
This Saturday, let's go to Belmont Park for Jockey Club Gold Cup day. The fields for the major stakes races are small, but the fields are elite. We will see horses of the quality of Midnight Bisou and Wow Cat in the Beldame, Code of Honor, Tacitus, Preservationist and the popular if unpredictable Vino Rosso in the JCGC, as well as Imperial Hint, Firenze Fire and Promises Fulfilled in the Vosburgh. As I'm sure most of you know, the latter two races are both "win and you're in" races for the BC.
I'd like to only play the first 10 races on the Belmont card, ending our day's contest after the JCGC. As an aside, after seeing that the major stakes races at BEL didn't have very large fields, I looked at the Santa Anita card as a possible alternative. Alas, the Rodeo Drive and the Awesome Again both only have 6 entrants. |
