Collmus gets the gig.

Big meet ahead at Gulfstream. With the slots the place should be hopping.

Yonkers raceway had a great night last night in New York with their slots and live racing. Good for them.

what is interesting is that both Collumus and Stauffer are real good friends, a real comedy situation if you ask me, might as well open Hialeah and run their and let Frank have his casino

Not a bad idea. Damm I miss Hialeah, what a beautiful racing facility.

I was sorry to see Vic Stauffer go, but I am a big fan of Larry Collmus. Hialeah was so fine; I still remember Slew establishing the seven-furlong record(which never came down). :D

That's great news..

For the first time in years, I won't be abusing the mute button during the Gulfstream races...

This story reportedly has its' origins with 'Post Time USA' publisher Gene Stevens lobbying his pal Stronach to get rid of Stauffer. The odd element is that "Geno" was pushing for a guy that works for him... Then Collmus, who's solid as they come from the crowsnest, gets the job instead...

Can't beat the feeling of reading a new "Breezin' With Gino." Plus the hair, the glasses and the silk. Quite a character I met once and have seen many, many times (hard to miss). He's been at it a long time.

lol. I'm a Gino fan. I freely admit it. "Your Eyes Into The Sporting World of The Affluent." Gene's joke of the month ... "that's funny." ... "let's take a picture!" ... what's not to like?

Geno Is Passionate About The Sport And Promotes It. So I Guess Yeah Ya Gotta Like Em

Gino? I find it hard to believe anyone listens to Gino.

Wow! You really saw history; I only saw it later on film. It is amazing how that record stood the test of time, but so did the great horse. :) Larry Collmus is the official Monmouth Park caller.

Rupert Pupkin 11-19-2006 05:37 PM

I love Vic. I think he is a great announcer.

I'm not a Collmus fan at all. I find Collmus to be dull and boring.

He promotes it?

Really? What he actually does is self-promote and take what he can.

And, no, ya don't " gotta " like him.

What the **** is wrong with you?
You don't respect guys who latch onto senile old women and take all their money? Man, you gotta develop better morals.

I like both Stauffer & Collmus, both very good in my book. As for Florida racing the winter should be great. With all the influx of slot money the Gulfstream meet should be awesome. Also Tampa is underated, that meet just keeps getting better year after year. Too bad that they can't race at Hialeah.
