Haven't had much of a chance to study the pp's lately, and won't be near a computer all day tomorrow, so I hope there are minimal scratches.

I'll just take the horseplayer's equivalent of a 1 iron, give it a wack and hope for the best:

Race 3:
$75 double: 1 / 4
$25 double: 3 / 4

Good luck to all and thank you to Real Quiet for scoring.

Does anyone have any objections to counting a race that's not going off for another 3 hours ? I don't.

Thanks.

Why don't you join us. We can always use another player or twelve; although, that might be a nightmare for those among us that keep the scores.

DonGuido 05-27-2024 10:16 AM

Yes, gamblin4ever, please stick around and get in the gate with the rest of us play money "gamblers".

cal828 05-27-2024 11:14 AM

Hard to know how much real money gambling might be going on with our players as nobody talks about it much, but I imagine there is some. Likely not gambling the same amounts. I do sometimes on big days, but usually substantially smaller amounts in between those big days. I think most of us enjoy the intellectual part of racing and hopefully that helps to keep the dementia wolf away from our doors. It's like the old saying "use it or lose it." I don't know about anyone else, but it seems like there are few things that can sharpen the focus like gambling. Winning or losing, you are thinking of little else when you are engaged in it, but as some famous person once said, "moderation in all things."

Although too much moderation makes "Jack" a dull boy . . .

I must admit that "dull" description has probably been me in the last 4 or 5 years. Haven't been anywhere all that interesting in that long. Didn't seem the thing to do while Covid was going on and more recently a rash of cancelled flights didn't make air travel seem appealing, but maybe that's all behind us and once more we can take to the skies. I'm about ready to see how Vegas has reinvented itself since my last visit.
