I dont know you from a hole in the wall. However, I am going to make some assumptions here. You have probably held many types of jobs in your life and you havent been successful at any of them because it is always someone else fault. You prob have been fired from a job because it was someone elses fault. You prob have had failed relationships and they have failed because it is the other person's fault. You are smart, dedicated, hard working but your tremendous ego gets in the way of you being truly successful. Now, turn that ego from selfish into unselfish and the skies is the limit for you.
LOL!! You are about as good with people analysis as you are with horses, not real good.
Before doing what i do now I was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley for 4 1/2 years. Earned the highest award first year advisors can get, and loved it. Sadly I entered the business(which I loved) just in time to gather assets and watch them plunge after the tech wreck and then the crushing 911 drop.
Advisors were paid on commission only, and in a down market the best advice you can give a client is to pare down any bad stuff hes holding, and sit on his hands. Thats the right thing to do. Unfortunately its tough to make any money that way if you are on commission, nearly impossible. After a while it became apparent to me that people had become very educated about buying financial products themselves, and were doing their own research on the internet, etc. So I left after 4 1/2 years. The guys who worked with me and were Vp's etc, well very few are left down at the office and I call up a friend there now and then and hes miserable.
Since then I've been doing this and enjoy it. If i wanted to be a leech I could always have moved down to Louisville and have taken Lansdon up on his generous offer to work for his company, but I have some responsibilities to family members that make that hard for me to do. I suppose its nice to know its there as a "safety net" but i enjoy working on my own for now. Before Morgan I worked for Marriott running the bar and restaurant in a hotel, left because I moved, sure wasn't fired, and had a commendation in my file for evacuating the hotel when a fire broke out and the supervisor went to pieces. Also increased sales 300% in my tenure there. So much for the many jobs huh?
relationships are personal and I don't speak about them directly. Except to say that you are wrong.
As far as taking life advice from a tire saleman? Thanks but I have plenty of friends who do posess intelligence and savvy that i would turn to before you. Actually there is a homeless guy who hangs out in front of the library around here who I would ask for advice before you!
