My parents paid half of my tuition and the books, I was responsible for the other half. I have to admit some bitterness towards the 'silver sperm' crowd but more than that I don't feel like some of these programs end up benefitting those individuals that they target in the first place. If the money is meant to aid education it should be applied to the primary and secondary schools before going to college aid--unless it carries some stipulations like the program in VT so that the state is also benefitting long term.
