This is because all the exotic players are looking for huge scores and they, more often than not, find them in larger fields.
On the other hand, someone betting to win would take smaller fields, and, in most cases, lower payouts, just about every time.
As for the turf races not filling, as I commented on another thread, towards the end of the GG meet, they had uncharacteristically large fields in their turf races. Where have those horses gone? They should follow NYRA and card 3 or 4 state bred turf races a day. That'll stimulate some interest.
Whatever the case, small fields and TRAKUS, on a predictable track (unlike WO), means the pickings should be easy at DMR this summer.
