NYRA met the requirements of the Federal Government, and the indictment was dropped. They also totally satisfied EVERY requirement laid out by Getnick & Getnick, the court-appointed administrators.

As to "corruption", I'll tell you straight out that Albany, and the crumbums there, had EVERYTHING to do with whatever nefariousness may have occured over the years. THEY were sucking off the NYRA teet harder than ANYONE.

There has been tremendous progress made under the current group of NYRA managers towards improving anything and everything that constitutes quality in running racing at the 3 enormous facilities. It is insane to "throw the baby out with the bath water" now... especially into the hands of a group that has PROVEN they are fiscally IRRESPONSIBLE... Just ask any CDI or MEC "shareholder"...

If you want to pay $50 to see the Belmont or Travers, from the infield, or $250 from the grandstand, keep pushing for a "for profit" entity... And that's the tip of the iceberg in terms of what you'll be paying for.

We as fans are far better off with a NYRA heavily supervised by soon-to-be Gov. Spitzer than ANYTHING else that greedily crawls out from under their rocks claiming they can "run" NY racing.

You'll get it now Steve, big brother will really be mad. LOL!!
Well put by the way.
