Montalvo breezed the horse for the vet and both gave the green light to go on.
In going over the race, Gary, Steve and I were all in agreement that Pal was pretty much the only speed. When Gary asked Montalvo what he thought, he said he wanted to take back and make a run, when Gary and I disagreed with him, he copped an attitude. I told him I thought he would get the lead easily. With that he walked away and when Paul gave him a leg up he said to Paul that he would never ride for us again, that we embarrassed him....I think it's not too far a stretch to figure out what happened next. When we spoke to the rider after, he said the vet scratched him, and when we spoke to the vet (the same vet that watched the breeze), he said the rider scratched him. I probably would not have believed the story if I didn't see it with my own eyes. I am still shaking my head and I won't say anymore about this right now. Incredibly frustrating....

Wow, that is unbelievable. It is not like Montalvo has people lining up to ride him. Thanks for the information.
