Looking at the chart for the Gov Cup, I noticed that the super payout was more than the pool total. Obviously a mistake. But in checking the figures, I was again reminded why it's not worth it to bet a Pennsylvania track.
The Penn National takeout on the super is 31 %, compared to 25 % at Delaware or 24 % at Saratoga. Assuming that the pool total figure as reported was correct for the Gov Cup, a winning ticket that took down the whole super pool (and that was possible, given the odds of the first three horses) would be worth around a grand and a half more at the Delaware or NYRA rates. PID and Parx are not much better than PEN, at 29 % and 30 % for the super, respectively.
