There isn't enough money to fix this team. They are old, due megabucks on existing contracts, and have gaping holes with the exit of ARod and presumably Jeter (Arguably the best SS to play the game, but coming back off an ankle at his age - you'd be lucky if he only loses a few steps and is an average infielder at best).
They are cap fuc1<ed and have no depth or farm - they can't go out and spend another 150 mill and still keep their 200 mill current payroll, and they can't dump the heavy loaded, back-ended contracts on their dinosaurs.
Will be interesting next year to see how they manage this mess. I anticipate they will be bad for a few years until they can spend 100's of millions on marquee free agents again.
