![]() I type of the Venezuelan star who has won 15 of her last 16 races.
Her last race took place at Camarero Racetrack in the 300K Classico Del Caribe in a race restricted for 3-year-olds that were bred in areas where great baseball players are an export such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and Panama. She was a 4.5 length winner of the race over the Mexico City super filly Vivian Record... the only other female in the race. Vivian Record had previously won 6 straight races - including what passes as Gr 1's by margins of 26 lengths (over a field of 10) - 31 lengths (over a field of 7) - 16 lengths (over a field of 7) - and 9.25 lengths (over a field of 10 against her elders) The 3rd place finisher - beaten 10.5 lengths behind Bambera was Eibar Coa's mount. The top Puerto Rican male was 4th at 5/2 odds. That all pretty much tells us nothing. Thankfully - Camarero racetrack is infested with some recent Ex-American horses (near Barbaro conqueror Great Point races there for a 5K claiming tag) Bambera got her 9f's in 1:51.60 in race #7. In race #3 that day - open 5K 3yo male claimers ran a mile in 1:40.07 In race #4, Amabo dominated a 50K stakes race for older males by 7+ lengths in 2:04.40 for his 7th straight win. He's a FL bred - bred by Satish. In race #6, an open 3.5K claiming race for older males went 1:39.93 for a mile I gave the open 3.5K claiming race a 69 Beyer. I think it's pretty cut and dry in the 67-to-72 range. I gave Amabo a 94 Beyer for his big victory in race #4. 7th place finisher Old Midleton easily won a 7K claimer at Charles Town with a 76 Beyer earlier in the year for his final American start. He was beaten 25 lengths by Amabo - thus running a 59 Beyer while fading steadily and getting drubbed. In his next start, Old Midleton was dropped into a 20K claimer and bet to 2/1 odds on the slight cut-back to 9fs. He was 2nd beaten 2.5 lengths to a 7/1 shot Finger Lakes invader who had just won back to back races in November with Beyers of 75 and 73 in victory. That all means that Bambera got an 85 Beyer in her glorious victory over the Mexico City Rachel Alexandra...and one can feel pretty confident in that figure. How good is Bambera? she's exactly 15 lengths slower than Rachel Alexandra at 9fs. |

![]() Racing in the Caribbean is far below that of the big racing centers of Brazil and Argentina. Venezuelan horses general run with central American and Caribbean horses.
Bambera could turn out to be a nice mare but coming to the US when we have RA and Z running at the top of the league, she will never look like much.

![]() It just keeps getting more and more incredible with you.
![]() When you're not: ** watching baby training videos or ** hand timing races or ** doing all those historical comparisons of horses (clearly you're the preemminent BEYERIAN historian presently) you're making speed figures for races in South America. ![]() Thanks for the laughs, man. I envy your energy; and the fact that you have all this free time. I can barely find the time to get in a bet with work and all (let alone do all these META handicapping things.) |
