Default Yoo hoo.....Fat Man

Do you think Godolphin got what they deserved with their insistance on sticking with Johnny V?

I'm not sure how much I specifically blame him for today's debacle, as he was trying to do the right thing and got victimized, but he really has buried this horse.

I'm still 'rushed' from that race. What an exciting finish. I loved Minister's Joy and used him ONLY OVER National Captain and True Cause, in exactas and triples. Hard to tell whether TW wins with a clear run; but he probably does, as he would've gotten the better trip.

This is certainly tough luck for Godolphin. And, as you pointed out, what makes it particularly ironic is that JV tried to do the right thing, in distinction from the butcher effort he put forth last time on this horse. He burned Shug the same way most recently with Parading.

I've been critical of JV for a long time about his wide, no cover trips on the truf. So, I guess I just need to grit and bear it, here.

This is a damn fine redboard. Damn fine.

A high quality redboard must have, imho, several distinct qualities:
- It must be believeable. This certainly is believeable.
- It must be just slightly off topic. This is.
- It must have a certain "Je ne c'est quoi" factor. While this factor is a bit subjective, the use of "I'm still 'rushed'" meets that standard, however it may be judged.

And to think when I clicked on the thread I thought I was just going to read about a botched ride or wasted work due to some off-the-turf event.

You never know when a gem like this is going to appear and make your day.
