Bid for GM in Europe... Guess Who

OK, I damn near had a heart attack on the way into work this morning. I was listening to the BBC Wrold News and tehywe re talking about the negotiations with Fiat to Buy Opel & Vartek (sp?). They were saying how the negotiations were being held up due to the pressure from Fiat for more cash to tide them over as they move ahead. Now the next sequence took all of 5 seconds, but it felt like a lifetime: "The other suitor is a Canadian Car Parts Manufacturing Firm.." I have the time to think to myself "Holy Shiat, plesase tell me Frank is not going to, um, mess this up now...." and teh next part of teh story is "The Manufacturer, Magna, is making a serious bid for the companies."

Damn near pulled off the road. Maybe the thread needs to be moved. If so I apologize, but when I saw the spectre of Stronach on this, I could not belive this. I can hardly wait to see what our friends in Maryland have to say about Frank's business model and how well it will work on an even more grand scale!
