And then neXT's operating system went on to become OS X when he returned to the company.

What I remember is how the original iMac influenced late 1990's appliance design. For awhile, it seemed like everything was sold in berry, blue, and green.

It is ironic how all the liberal wall street protesters use his equipment and inventions to organize their protests.

He contributed pretty much entirely to Democratic candidates, but the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, described Steve Jobs as an Ayn Rand-style Objectivist, so make of any of that what you will.

Creating and running the 2nd largest Fortune 500 company in America isn't exactly in the liberal playbook.

Geesh, can we stop the ridiculous assumptions? See Gates, Bill; Buffett, Warren, etc. "Liberals" (as you blindly lump millions of people together in your mind) demonstrably admire accomplishment and wealth creation as much as anybody.

As an aside, Jobs campaign finance contributes are available on the internet.

As someone who lived when it was truly exciting as computers became commonly available (I personally recall a Commodore TS 80), thank you, Steve Jobs.

As you are typically want to do, your response has nothing to do with my original point, that is, the irony of the liberal wall street protesters using the very items to communicate to organize the protests against the big companies that manufacture and sell them.

As for Gates and Buffet, their principles are ironic as well as they have certainly taken advantage of a system that liberals loathe and seek to destroy. The only one who makes ridiculous assumptions is you. And for the record, before you play your typical part of the victim, you once again are the one to take the first shot at me.

Steve Jobs was scum of the Earth.

Commodore didn't make the TS 80. It was Tandy, for Radio Shack, and it was the TRS-80.

Very little of what Jobs did, or came up with, was original or innovative. He copied others ideas and did a much better job of packaging and marketing those ideas.

He was ruthless and cared naught for whom or whatever he hurt.

Er... no. They're protesting the Wall Street firms, which are not firms that actually make or build anything; they are merely firms that make gambles with other people's money on whether the perceived value of companies that do build and make things will rise or fall. There's nothing ironic at all in protesters using manufactured devices they purchased to tweet and photograph while protesting Wall Street's outsized influence on the USA. Now, if the protesters were calling their brokers while protesting, that'd be ironic.

Thanks for making my point for me: your ridiculous attempt at irony completely fails due to the demonstrable falsity of your assumptions.

You've now changed that assumption to be that "liberal wall street protesters" (false assumption, again) are railing against big companies that create their social media enabling. You clearly have zero idea what Occupy Wall Street is all about, and "who" they are protesting against, and why.

Because that sure as hell ain't it.

Wow, there's those darn "liberals" again, all "loathing and seeking to destroy".

You're not filled with too many proven false assumptive prejudices at all, are you?

Go look at the Forbes list of the current Top 15 Billionaires on Wiki or Forbes. Please note which ones worked for and created their own wealth in this country (oh, those nasty liberals and Democrats!) and which merely inherited it? (why, those are dependable Republican donors!)

I'm so tired of hearing that silly false "liberals hate corporations and wealth and money" whining. It's demonstrably baloney.

Don't get mad just because you've been called out on it. And thanks for hijacking a thread about Steve Jobs to diss those "liberals" you apparently dislike so much.

Er, no. In reality, these morons don't know what they are protesting against. You do realize that those very brokers sell shares in the corporations which build the capitol and worth of the corporations that manufacture and sell the very devices that the morons that are protesting use to communicate to organize their protests?

Do you really think there would be an Apple without Wall Street?
