![]() Gulfstream Park - Closing Day - $2mil Rainbow PK6 Carryover - Horseplayers coming out of the woodwork for this jackpot. 100% rain just adds another wrinkle to the sequence that consists of four maiden races and three races scheduled for the turf. In addition, there is a potential of twelve runners in each of the six races. According to Mike Welsh's article in DRF, a decision will be made one way or another by noon to allow horseplayers to make the proper adjustments. Take an extra look at the also-eligibles and horses that might excel on a sloppy/wet surface. I'm sure anyone that has complained about this wager will be taking a stab. I handicapped for a wet main track and a soft turf course with main track selections underneath. Good Racing Luck
R8 - MSW 56k #10 Sweet N Discreet (7-2) - Disappointed on debut at odds on last 4th of July and must be used on all tickets despite being no cinch. #5 On Parole (12-1) - Lost all chance on debut with sluggish start as the post time favorite. Deserves another chance at a big price. #2 Fame and Fortune (6-1) - 1/2 Million $ purchase shows a long string of works for sharp connections. #6 Carnival Court (4-1) - Darley runner looks ready at 1st asking. R9 - Md 35k (Turf 8F) #6 Third Martini (3-1) - Possible single on some tickets takes the hood off and picks up top jock. #2 Act of War (Ire) (8-1) - Finally draws inside and looks to get an advantageous trip. #4 King Khalifa (6-1) - Has shown some versatility after having all sorts of trouble in maiden voyage. #9 Macho Spaces (10-1) - The drop alone makes him attractable at a value price. OFF TURF - 9 12 6 4 R10 - Clm 6.25k #12 Bishop of Nola (8-1) - Definitely fits, although the one published work is a concern. #5 Morality (3-1) - Has speed which is always dangerous on a wet surface. #10 Jordan's Image (4-1) - Back in familiar barn and has a win over a sloppy sealed track at the meet. #4 Monroe Court (6-1) - Beat similar in last with perfect trip and a repeat effort will be tough. R11 - MSW 56k #7 Herd Mentality (8-1) - Solid works for a barn that knows how to have them ready early. #5 Fogonazo (3-1) - Exits a fast race and should only improve in 2nd start. #3 Silver Lining John (4-1) - Ignore the Pletcher barn at your own risk. Decent works. #9 Bob and the Gang (20-1) - Always been a big fan of 2nd start after speed and fade in debut. R12 - Alw 59k N2L (Turf 8.5F) #3 Coexist (6-1) - Trust Kimmel off the bench and this runner kept some very nice company last year. #4 Film Making (3-1) - Obvious contender, but that 1 for 19 is hard to look past. #10 Forver Conga (8-1) - Steps up after producing some decent efforts at the meet. #1 Crafty Unicorn (4-1) - Expecting some speed off the layoff and holding on for a piece late. OFF TURF - 8 5 3 1 R13 - Md 35k (Turf 8.5F) #1 Sweet Gator Girl (6-1) - Drops and Paco will probably get her up close early. #4 Nora's Song (5-2) - Logical contender will take a bunch of money off her 2nd on debut at this level. Iffy. #2 How Cheeky (8-1) - Lands in new barn and adds the hood. A major player if she avoids traffic trouble. #12 Sortaria (12-1) - Looks to have enough speed to clear early and could find these more to her liking.
