Default A Positive Story

I don't know if this has been posted yet. I just read it, and in light of all the negative stories lately it was refreshing.

She was a top race horse for her 3 races... I am glad she is happy and well. Let's just hope she was and is bred responsibly. She is by Seeking The Gold who many claim produces unsound horses.

After a quick look one can say that Dancing Forever is bred well in that he is outcrossed from that Seeking The Gold line. Indeed, he is a 5 gen outcross which will most likely help his soundness. 19 races so far. He is a future sire. Castanet is ok. There is a Northern Dancer x2 but it could be worse.

The other two are worrisome in that they are inbred to Dancinginmydreams' male line via Raise A Native, for Remember. And via Mr Prospector for Step Lively. Not a good move imo for a mare who had soundness issues.

I think she had a bad accident in a race how is that a soundness issue? It's an old story about her and that whole line of Phipps stock has been taking a long time to get to the races.. For wahtever reason the only early stars are from the Maplejinsky line and I think that was the last filly they bought from the outside.

Coming out of the final turn, on a rock hard Belmont surface, she injured herself and pulled up. That is my recollection. She was great to watch for a short time and I am happy for her.

Her son Dancing Forever just won the Manhattan as most are aware.

Boy's Wish Granted to Meet Smarty Jones
http://news.bloodhorse.com/article/45903.htm

Story that will be on SportsCenter’s “My Wish” series at 6:00p June 30 on ESPN.

The Clays and John Greely go out of their way... I also met a Make-A-Wish group on the backstretch Derby Week that were meeting Derby horses. Achingly sad.

That is a nice story.

There's a horse in this country with the same name, Dancing Forever, that also has an amazing story. When she was a yearling she was being transported in an old float and suffered a really bad injury when the floor of the float gave way and she was dragged along the road.

But a year later she had been nursed back to full health and she won her first race. She's won 3 now I think from 10 or 11 starts.

Just marvelous Ed. Thanks. I updated pedigreequery.com with your comments. You don't have to pay a monthly fee to update the horses and anytime you feel a NZ horse needs updating there please do so. It is an interesting site for all thoroughbred lovers world over.

This is not a plug. I just like the site.
