Default What did we learn from HR Derby?

.....we learned how much better Bonds is than we thought. I don't know the numbers he has put up at that park....but if the HR Derby is any indication of Bonds vs Others......there's no contest!

Not to downplay Bonds ability, but the HR derby didn't show anything. Pitchers were throwing 75mph at best (I doubt many were faster than 70mph) will need the batter every ounce of ability to hit HRs. Its totally different than hitting 82mph sliders and 88mph+ fastballs out.

Agreed! But with the hottest(?) lefthanded hitters up there 1 ball went to McCovey Cove. All the players said that the park was hardest in MLB to hit one out, and BB does it with relative ease.

I think we realized that the program must be taped and then edited. It was impossible to watch the entire 4+ hours. Plus Chris Berman gets on your last nerve after about 5 minutes. He is a parody of himself.

A couple of years ago, I was watching a SF-STL with a die-hard Mark McGwire fan. He complained how short AT&T ballpark was, and I said, "huh?"
Had to break the ballpark books that we both received in our friends wedding as Groomsman to compare. He just start tripping over himself.
