If There's a Triple Crown This Year will that horse be a lock for horse of the year?

Every horse that won the triple crown, other than Omaha, won Horse of the year when they swept the series. I wonder if a triple crown would be an automatic Horse of the Year win for the horse.

Do you think that Zenyatta, Rachel or Quality Road could do anything to win Horsr of the year honors over a triple crown winner??
