![]() I have finally been able to put together some of the pictures from from KNS's last race. As has been noted in the retirement thread, she gave her all to us every time, even when, like Saturday, she just didn't have it in her anymore. She gave what she had and tried.
I feel so very fortunate that I was at many of her races including the first win and the last race. I got to spend some quality time with her Saturday morning. Her demeanor is so much calmer than it had been. Seeing her behave on the backstretch, enjoying the handwalking, grazing, peppermints and attention helps me with this transition; she was behaving much more like a hunter/pleasure horse than the wound up Thoroughbred and should be able to make a smooth transition. She is being retired sound and, according to Susan, is a very comfortable ride. Susan thinks that she could make a good trail horse, comfortable ride and long reins! Heartfelt thanks must go out to Chuck, T.C., Cherie, Ryan, Susan, Steve and the countless others who looked out for her and always made the best decision for Kickin. And of course and endless thank you to Kickin N Screamin who thrilled me every time I saw her. Enjoy your retirement. Here is a lnk to her last race: http://s989.photobucket.com/albums/a...y%2031%202010/ |
