Default BEL/MTH: Wed., 9/13

Rain could throw a wrench into Wednesday's Belmont card.. We'll review plays after the scratches are announced around 11am. Below we also offer bonus coverage of top tabs at Monmouth, which could be affected by inclement weather as well...

Hope you caught Tuesday's edition of ATRAB with Steve Klesaris laying out Miraculous Miss' future including a two turn run in the Cotillion and a BC Distaff visit if all goes well in Philly. The Puglisi filly's season was badly interupted by her flipping in the Acorn gate Belmont Stakes Day, an unfortunate mishap which could have been tragic. Luckily the 6 time winner, who's only loss (Old Hat) came on that brutally sloppy Gulfstream strip Donn Handicap Day, is back 100% and able to try to make a late run at what now appears to be Pine Island's 3yo Filly Eclipse...

Andy Serling was terrific at the end of the show helping us decipher the state bred maiden turf race which concludes Wednesday's Belmont card. I reached out to Andy because so many of the field's entrants had been facing one another, and I was anxious to hear how he approaches a race like this. It made for a great 'listen' and you can check it out on the ATRAB archives...

TUESDAY'S RESULTS

Solid performance Tuesday though we botched the race sequence for the late double at Philly! It was the 8-9, not the 9-10, that produced the final twin win wager. Sorry... The good news was tabbing the winners of each.

At Delaware, the P3 was hit, though it only produced a whopping 20% ROI.. $20 invested, $24 returned! The 8th race triple was quite nice though with a $217 hit available ($108.50 for $1) with the 4 horse selection box ($24).

PHILLY PARK (9/12/06)

9th: ALW/N2X, 3+, 7.5f-T (3:50pm)

1. #7 Monster Affair 9-2: Pierce Concerto gelding returns from MTH claimers WON
2. #9 Mr Shaanshu 5-2: Red vet from Preciado back to PHA after trying DEL
A. #4 Spiderkid 12-1: 3yo scored v. elders in slop when last seen; Tries lawn
B. #2 With Spirit 12-1: Sharp Lebaron goes green with pacey gelding

10th: CLM/N4L, 3+, 6f (4:16pm)

1. #10 Crafty Smile 5-2: Pino-Vega a potent combo (27% W's); Red pounces WON
2. #5 Muhlenberg 6-1: Menifee colt evidence of danger in claiming off Lake
A. #8 Bardstale 12-1: Kingmambo gelding makes slight drop; Gets familiar pilot
B. #3 Junaguska 12-1: Red made middle move last; gets 'go to' guy (29% W's)

DELAWARE PARK (9/12/06)

7th: OC/N2X, F&M-3+, 1m70y (3:27pm)

1. #5 Deed to the Gate 6-1: Nunley bay effective this trip; Can upset ML fave 3rd
2. #7 Amandatude 2-1: Ritchey stakes filly obvious and most likely winner WON
A. #2 Groomeroma 4-1: SCRATCHED
B. #1 Third Times Better 8-1: Waldron going well and closer takes slight drop

8th: ALW/N2X, 3+, 5f-T (3:54pm)

1. #2 Matt's a Giant 5-1: Farro seeks 1st of meet; GCause gelding gets Ramon 3rd
2. #3 Smart Account 4-1: Houghton gelding exits LRL score this trip; Keeps Anna WON
A. #8 Come Close 8-1: Grey from brilliant Sheppard away since FL wintering
B. #9 Tex and the City 8-1: Lebaron bay by Carson City cuts back from route 2nd

NOTE: #5 Dontfearthereaper (5-2) and #7 Atlas Peak (10-1) 4th both are faster than those here but try quirky sod dash for first time.. Would encourage use of both in multi race plays at the least as cover..

9th: ALW/N1X, 3+, 1m (4:21pm)

1. #4 McShane's Halo 12-1: SCR
2. #6 Interline 7-2: Lake 26% 1st off claim; Will's Way red aced SAR exam
A. #1 Orlop 4-1: Farris bay 1-2-0 last 3; Never off board this trip WON
B. #8 Steel Pier 8-1: Distorted Humor gelding from our man Jones was pricey yrlng
C. #5 Forgotten Cat 3-1: Dutrow candidate 3rd off break; J-T hits 31% (Rose)

P3 Play:

7: 5-7 (2 SCR)
8: 2-3-5-7-8
9: 4-6 (Conso of SCR paid as we get race fave #1)

2x5x2 = $20
(7-3-4 P3 paid $24+)

Thx Team.. Glad some are along for the ride. It's been a very nice day so far.. Needed somebody to hook up with the Longshot Alert playa just before in the 7th. Hope somebody got him on the nose at 17-1...

Would really like to see NNY pull off the win here in the Dougie...

Thx PSH, Gales, Matt-O, Rev, Tim...

For whatever reason, when I capped these races they came up to the plate looking like beachballs... This was about as good a day as I can recall.

Hope some people capitalized today! Tomorrow will likely be an 0-fer...
