My Nose Is Bleeding
I am 31, turn 32 on April 1st (yeah yeah). Anyways, I could not sleep last night. I always sleep flat onm y back for a variety of reasons, none of which are relevant to this "incident" that occured early this morning. Around 2am, I decided to get up, get some tea and watch some tv since I could not sleep and had to be at work in a short couple of hours. When I got up I noticed a strange sensation in my left nostril cavity, it was no longer clogged. It had been clogged for days as I suffer from some sinus difficulties. So, I got my tea and layed back down watching a replay of The Sopranos. Nest thing I know my left nostril passage is clear as a whistle, and then not a second later my nose is running, so I thought. I get up to get a tissue and look down, blood.
I have never, ever had a nose bleed in my life. So, I panick. It will not stop. I am stuffing tissue left and right and it keeps on coming. This goes on for 4 or 5 minutes. Time to call 911 in my crazy world. Wait I say, call Mom. So I call and her groggy voice picks up. I explain in detail what happened and she calmy says get some ice, put it on your damn nose and you will be fine. Call me if it does not stop. I did not call back, it stopped in an instant. Later in the day she called me at work and laughed at me. I am no longer a nose bleed virgin. I was honest to god scared to death. |

Quote:
In my late teens I started to have a nose bleeds a night at least twice a week. Probably started from getting hit the nose so many times playing high school and college club basketball It would go away for a month and comeback so finally I went to the doctor. The doc told me I can get a procedure done that cauterize your blood vessels in your nose. Had it done and never had a problem since, That was some of the best money ever spent. |

2Mins, you have the same birthday as my aunt!
I had a few nosebleeds in my 20's- same thing- no pain, but suddenly I was gushing blood. Dry weather might have triggered yours- so might stress (I think it was a combination of both in my case). I wouldn't worry unless it happens frequently from here on out. At least you were home. I was at the laundromat, and you should have seen the look on the owner's face while I was trying to stop the bleeding. I was so embarrassed (and concerned I wouldn't get it stopped before my clothes were done drying!).
