Default Your 'Easy-Bake Oven' stories..

The following link is to a Y! story about the recall of Easy-Bake Ovens that may have a burn risk for young chefs...

At the risk of being the object of ridicile and derision, I will admit that much of my culinary career interests/vocation may have been prompted by experiences with a 60's era Easy-Bake Oven that a babysitter used to bring over to the house.. English Muffin pizzas and ridiculous chocolate cakes were the focus of my early gustatory expirementation...

Undoubtedly there are many here who can recount their Easy-Bake successes... and more frequent flops... ???

jesus....no comment.

needless to say, I did not have an easy bake oven....but a friend did and nearly burned the house down when it caught on fire.

I honestly did not know that you could do good barbecue in an easy bake oven..

Sure...you just rub the ribs, reduce wattage of lightbulb and run them through about 1,000 times. They really come out great...

Brownies! Always good.
Apple sauce...ok.
Toast...better off using a toaster.
I have since gone on to the "Showtime Rotisserie"...the set-it-and-forget-it one. I highlly recommend. Great chicken, ribs, and roasts. Veggies on top.

That is a pretty good tip. Gives new meaning to "eat my shorts!"
Did you ever try cooking with your car/truck engine?
Wrap some baking potatoes in foil and put them under the hood before you go on a long (2 hour+) trip. If you have room, carrots can be put in there with a pot roast (dry onion soup mix) but be sure to double wrap it and avoid the potholes.
Another tip...you can use an iron to steam cabbage leaves before you stuff them to make golabki z kaputsty (Polish style stuffed cabbage).

No, but I have barbequed on a small Weber in the back of a van going down the interstate. Back door open a bit, front windows down. Worked great.

I'll have to give that one a try.
Heck, I knew a crazy lady that put stuff in zip-lok bags and cooked in her dishwasher, and I must admit that during a Super Bowl game when everyone was ten beers or more, and I'd run out of potato chips and doritos, I found some that were quite old and a bit soggy. Ten minutes in the clothes dryer and they were good to go.
