'ATR' Today: Harvey Pack
The legendary Harvey Pack will be my guest from 4:15-5:00 this afternoon on the "At the Races". Yesterday's opener from Saratoga was a great deal of fun, despite the weather, and having Harvey today should be entertaining.
There isn't a horseplayer on the East Coast that didn't spend the 70'-90's listening to or watching Pack, and it's a real pleasure for me to have the opportunity to bring him to you... ALSO.. When I managed a Nevada racebook in the late 80's, early 90's, I always cranked up the sound when Harvey Pack was doing his handicapping show prior to the Saratoga card. I tried to get the "west coasters" to appreciate Harvey's insight and humor. That was when Saratoga was "Thoroughly Thoroughbred". I still remember the jingle they used to play on the simulcast signal.
