homebase is norfolk virginia. it's the USS Hawes. oliver hazard perry class fast frigate.

The motels on Ocean View Avenue are cheap and don't ask questions...at least that was the case 20 some years ago when I worked there!

John, last I heard they are trying to do some revitalization down in the Ocean View area...and it is needed badly.

Is that old amusement park still there? The roller coaster claimed a squid or two a year...drunks that stood up and got whacked by the "keep hands, feet and body inside car" sign. Interesting place though...easy place to pick up girls (so I was told....)

My uncle (retired navy) was based there. Still lives in the area. Let us know if he is deployed. Also if he or any others he's serving with need anything. Deb

i sure will. thanks! he should be home in a couple weeks for about a 15 day leave. then he reports by sept 25th.
