Default Iceland Horse trek

Last month I went to Iceland for a quick vacation. Flew into Reykjavik on Saturday morning. Spent the day in Reykjavik - they were celebrating gay pride so it was quite colorful. On Sunday morning I headed to the northwest - the Vatsandalur Valley for 3 days of riding across the valley. In a word it was spectacular. The weather was perfect, the daylight lasted for 19 hours or so and the horses were the sweetest most willing steeds. We rode with a herd of loose horses, some of us riding in front while others fanned out in the back.

Anyone who has thought about going should stop thinking and go. It was probably one of my favorite vacations and I have had some pretty nice vacations. The accomodations are spartan, the food is basic but the exhilirating rides and scenery make this vacation. I'm making my plans to head back next year.

As always, I took many pictures. Here is a link to them - enjoy

Hey!...I like the way that sounds...could be a song title.

Anyhooo...I know it's hard reminding too many posters of their insignificance...ya just can't do it all by yourself.

Great job in vaporizing Yep...Bent Mah Pud......by the way.

If you took a minute to research or sincerely ask a question you would find out that it is indeed possible to take a "quick vacation to Iceland" and nominally more expensive than a "quick weekend to Saratoga", and far less expensive and less time consuming than a "quick vacation to Del Mar"

Oh yer breakin' my heart already.

For your informaton those aren't really the Riccola Bros...so that's one they put over on you.

And I wouldn't tip whoever it is doing your hair.

The photos are worse than watching Uncle Bob's slides from his Canadian canoe trip.

Next time take a quick trip on a slow people mover.

I thought you were talking about what happened to you and your girlfriends at the hotel after getting picked up in a bar in Rekyevic.

A classic thread. Who would of thought Iceland was so much fun.

Morty, Pillow.....brilliant work again, as always.

Suffolk, if you're going to post some of the vacation pictures, post them all. I am especially interested in seeing the deleted ones of TechnoViking blugeoning those rams and then dancing over their bloody carcasses. I've watched TechnoViking's dance a dozen times and I'm close to a convulsion. My stomach is throbbing and I'm damn near in tears laughing when I watch him. He is an Icelandic god.

Has anyone nominated "TechnoViking" as a name for the new DT horse.

I just watched the Technoviking clip three more times in the last twenty minutes. I'm putting on a weight belt if I watch it again. Otherwise, I risk rupturing my spleen.

That film clip will do for the f*ck parade what the Zabruder film did for the grassy knoll.
