Default GLD down to it's last few days.....

Tuesday night will be the last day for my home track. When me and my wife moved here in Nov. of 1999 from Arkansas (Oaklawn Park) I was glad to hear there was an OTB near by. Now I'll have to drive 1 1/2 to Sports Creek to bet the horses. I don't know if I'll make the trips or not. I find myself wanting to leave the game. Sold all interest in our few horses here and now I don't know what we'll do. I guess we'll just go a whole lot less now. I hate you Money grabbing Magna Ent. suckers burn in hell.

packer, that is depressing. Looks like I'm coming home this weekend to hang out with the GLD guys one last time. Are the simulcast doors closed Tuesday as well?

I knew it was coming, but thanks for the news backer, I am in a state of depression. I just called my bro-in-law who I always go with to tell him Tuesday was the last day, and my sister tells me he is on his way there right now, and I am stuck in East Lansing.

Lotta rumors about LS on the blocks too. The simo pavilion is a cash cow but Magna has let the live meet go . I just wish some of the horsemen in this area could get Mark Cuban involved and buy this place. He is the kind of owner that gets things done. The TB industry could probably learn a lot of things from his abiliy to market and promote a product. The various govt, control could be his short comming but he also the type that could help get them all working to gether.

Any chance they go back to a standard bred track at GLD? At least that would keep an simulcasting outlet open on the west side of the state after they open the TB track near the Detroit Airport.
