Default Reynolds and Pompa

At least Pompa retained 25% of Big Brown. Hard to know when to hold and when to fold; that's why there's insurance.

Interesting question would be if Reynolds would've gotten the job done with the big horse.

If he stayed out of the horses way, i think yes. This is an exceptional colt.

TFM, I dont think Reynolds would have done half of what Dutrow has done. Any horse of Reynold's I have seen have terrible feet, thrushed, etc. We will never know, but with BB said feet problems chances are they would have gotten worse in his care.

Are you the blacksmith that checks the shoes before they go to the paddock?

No I claimed 3 from him between 25-50, and all the shoe work was terrible, and all the feet were thrushed beyond comprehension.

Whomever was taking care of those horses or doing the blacksmith work may want to think about going into another line of work

Rick Dutrow Jr. is one of the few trainers that excels with the cheapest horses at a race track and the very best horses at the highest level.
His record speaks for itself. I don't think Big Brown would have traveled the Derby Trail if IEAH did not purchase him and hand over the reigns to Dutrow Jr.

It's interesting reading this, 'cause I've always felt that Reynolds' horses have just about the worst action this side of those of Ribaudo. (Excluding cheaper stock, of course.)

They never seem to run straight in the lane.
