Default made up my mind

well
after trying to get feed back from the forum[with nearly no success]ive decided to take my shot this year at saratoga by betting 20 dollars to win
40 to place on steves value pick each race at saratoga
if he doesnt bet on a particular day
i wont bet
i also will take into concideration [with importance]all of hockeys take on each race he gives out a selection
thats my plan
i hope it all goes well
ill keep tabs on the value pick and give a update for the forum to see
ok
good luck everyone up at saratoga
p s into my 6th week with double knee replacement
slow as a mule still but pain is slowly leaving

While Steve does give out great picks ( especially at toga ), maybe you can search the forum on a better way to spend the $40.00 to place on each race. ( exacta / tris / 10cent super / pick 3 / etc. )

I personally think place is a sucker bet.

just my 2 cents, good luck none the less

There are lots of great 'cappers here. It's impossible to narrow them down to a select few. I'm sure most of us have differing opinions on who the best 'cappers are as well. Handicapping is an inexact science and involves a lot of luck, so to definitively say who DT's best handicappers are is about impossible.

I'm not trying to be a smartass, but have you considered that your recovery time might be usefully spent trying to learn how to pick winners for yourself? Listening to others' input is helpful, but from experience, I can tell you that handicapping for yourself and picking your own winner is way more satisfying than being 'put on' to a horse..

betting someone else's picks is like getting sloppy 2nds or messy 3rds

then again, this is a new era with the GIRLIE MAN being the prototype

oh ****

To each his own I suppose, but isn't handicapping races yourself the fun part about this whole thing?

I agree with what they are saying..if I was laid up for months I'd be capping and reading horse racing books like crazy.

I thought you were going to write that you are keeping your baby.

Go ahead and bet Steve's plays if you just want some action and don't want to handicap. You could do much worse.

I'd drop the double up place wager though.

It may sound stupid, but I would rather lose with my selections than cash with someone else pick.

Betting to place is like kissing your sister. Betting to show is like kissing your brother.

Ontheoutside..

Sorry I have been unresponsive to your request for feedback... Sent you a Private Message with some thoughts.

Hope your operation(s) go well and you get up on the new knees quick!

Kindest regards,
Steve

I know that alot of times I will look at Steve's picks when I am handicapping and make a notation of who they are. He seems to have an un-canny nitch for finding those needles in haystacks that I just don't see.
By all means handicap yourself and use your picks with his in perhaps a tri or pick 4.

Good Luck and let us know how things are progressing. Both with the picks and the knee

Maybe this strategy will be like the stock market. Up one day down the next. If that's the case pass tomorrow.

Aren't you giving up $400-$500 a week in take out? Instead of doing that, just bet $60-$120 a day on a pick 4. That will cost you (in the range of) $100 week in take-out. Over a year, you would save 15k.
