Default Left Out

So it seems that the consensus opinion is that USC is the best team in the nation. That may be true although I favor Oklahoma. A few years ago, USC and Oklahoma both finished undefeated and played in the title game. Undefeated Auburn was left out. This year, USC may be the best team but does anyone think that if they run the table, an undefeated team from either the SEC or the Big 12 can be left out? The Big 12 and SEC both have four teams currently in the top 10. The Pac 10 doesn't have another team besides USC even in the top 25. If Georgia, LSU, Bama, or Florida go undefeated and is NOT in the title game, I'd not be surprised to see the SEC not only drop out of the whole BCS deal (contracts be damned) but I'd expect to read news of them seceeding from the Union. While it's not as dramatic in Big 12 country, if Oklahoma or Missouri goes undefeated and is not in the title game, that would be a huge travesty also. The competition in these two conferences is beyond tough this year. It's almost unlikely that the champions from either of these conferences will be able to go undefeated AND win their conference title games (something USC won't have to do) but if they do, they deserve to be there over USC.

I think the BCS learned their lesson when LSU played oklahoma for the title game a few years back and USC was left out.

USC is the most glamorous team in the country now that Notre Dame is no longer competitive. USC gets in if it is based on any type of human decision.

the worst thing that can happen, the SEC and Big12 beat each other up ( probably will) and usc stumbles, everyone has a loss. sorry osu runs the table in the terrible 10 and ends up back in the NCg.
don't forget byu lerking out west.
it will probably take the SEC getting left out again to blow up the BCS. the Big10 and Pac12 doesn't like the BCS and are just as happy to be in the rose bowl. they are the 2 main roadblocks to a playoff tourny. like is played in other college football divisions.

big 12 won't beat each other up. Mizzou does NOT play Oklahoma this year in the regular season, only in the title game.

I don't see an undefeated SEC team coming out this year. Too many good teams that WILL beat up on each other and think there will probably be 3-4 one loss teams. That gives the title game to USC against the big 12 winner, that also should be undefeated.
For BYU to have a chance, all the big 12 AND sec teams would have to lose and I don't see that happening.
OSU's done for the title game since losing to USC (and that's coming from an OSU grad that was at the game last week). They should end up in the Rose Bowl however. Pryor looked good, minus 2 mistakes. Everytime they were using 3 guys to cover 2 WR's... and Pryor picked out the single coverage guy every single time, which amazed me.
As long as OSU's BCS eligible, whatever bowl has 1st pick, which will be the Rose due to losing USC, they'll take OSU, as they will always fill the stadium.

No chance they're in the National Championship game, though... the math doesn't work in their favor in the BCS calculations
