Default 9/30: Meadowlands (15% T/O-Late P4)

Huge Saturday of play was largely successful thanks especially to the utter demolition of Turfway Stakes as the engine on the train. The $364.00 ($1) Kentucky Cup Sprint trifecta covered all misfires and then some when near sure thing Fatal Bullet romped over the big prices I offered beneath him. Hope you scored out here... Curiously, my multi-race plays were derailed by the stunning upsets in both of the other big sprints with the upsets at Belmont and Santa Anita. Black Seventeen and Cost of Freedom were very hard to figure against the fields they faced, so congrats to anyone that had them. Hope you did well over the weekend!

The Meadowlands opens up for its' decent meet today, and take note of the attractive takeout on The Swamp's exotics and multis.. Well worth looking over..

I'm against Slade in the seventh. I count all of one good race he's run outside of the Wild Wild West (DEL), and with the race basically starting on the turn in MED miles, he's going to be wide at least once unless he drops back early. I think he'll be much shorter than 5-2 at post time, and prefer Value Driver and Broad Acres. Bonding worries me a little bit, but I think he's got a lot of speed to deal with up front.

Glad you pointed out the 15% takeout on the Pick 4, as it's something that I'll be putting a lot of effort into this meet.

Nice $40 ($!) triple in the 5th to kick off the afternoon... I really liked the 1 there with Morales and keyed around him...

If my chalk can't get it done, hope one of yours does. A few small savers.

$.10 Super - 2,7 / 2,3,6,7 / 2,3,6,7 / 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 = $4.80
$1 Exacta - 3,6 / 2,7 = $4

In the sixth race at the Meadowlands today, can anyone tell me how Quick Comeback[#8 horse], from Gary Contessa, can be M/L'ed at 9/2 go off at 5/2 and come in 3rd but at the last race at the Spa go off at 41/1 - oh and lead the whole way? Dont get me wrong, as Steve will atest, my son got the 41/1 win at the Spa that day.

Who didn't see Quick Comeback's potential or shortcomings? Saratoga or Meadowlands?
