Default horses being turned in for rescue

http://www.thehorse.com/ViewArticle....&nID=22&src=RA

and this article suggests throroughbreds for show horses which I think is good . However, they do not mention the unstabalizing effect of the horrific factory farms, especially in Kentucky .

sumitas deleted his post, I don't want people to be confused about how badly I got "punked" so I am reprinting it My handsome, big, strong, athletic, super conformed yearling will be now pointed to a show horse . He was foaled and raised on the spacious pastures of Irish Hill Century Farm in beautiful Stillwater , NY . Now 20 months of powerful thoroughbred .

For your viewing pleasure here's his site www.saratogawarrior.com . The most recent photos are about 2 months old so he's even more developed now . Quite a bit darker. Very striking . Healthy . Composed dominant temperament. No issues .

A note : He has never seen a sales ring because, imo it's best for his development, and I insist he goes directly to a responsible competition stable .

I don't know why i am bothering to respond, but have you ever even been to a farm in kentucky? Visit one, then go to a hog farm and tell me they are the same thing.

Kentucky means nothing to me . It's an illusion for a main line to slaughter . It's a spot on a map somebody dreamed up . Let's get back to real horses, shall we ? Instead of biases .

yes lets get to the real issue...breeding horses that are not commercially viable and unlikely to be productive racehorses....why don't you trot out to those beautiful pastures where your horses are and get an idea of what they are talking about.

As for pointing you yearling to a show career--not a bad plan, however you will be hard pressed (IMO) to find a high end show stable that wants him. AND what exactly do you think happens to horses that wash out of THOSE programs...newsflash for you, the same thing that happens to any other unwanted horse.

Who are you kidding ? I don't think you have to be an AP Indy to be a succerssful show jumper. Or have Mr Prospector crosses up the butt either .

sumitas, how do you reconcile your first post with your second? if you feel that there are too many horses, how does breeding more yourself help the issue? especially when you concede he's not viable as a racehorse, and is just one more to be tossed into a rather niche market, show horses.
