Default Phillies news...not all good

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3770432

Supposedly Utley is recovering well and they resigned Old guy Moyer to a good contract but signing Chan Ho Park to pitch in citizens bandbox seems like a disaster waiting to happen.

They should rename him Chan Ho Condrey, because he's about the same crap arm as Clay.

hopefully park will be exposed early in the season and ride the pine...

I'm glad Moyer came back, eventhough he's old as heck he can still place those slow pitches well and is a great leader and role model for the team as well as a mentor to Cole Hamels.

I REALLY hope Chase recovers fast and well...

.....and Raul Ibanez to play LF. More of a downgrade on defense but bats on the other side. Does Amaro want to go back to the playoffs?

Ibanez is an Upgrade at defense... burrell is nothing special fielding.

I cant say Ibanez will be an upgrade in the offense, but maybe show more consistancy than Pat the Bat. They are similar.

I love Pat the Bat, and he was part of Philadelphia... but this was not a bad move & Ibanez also has leadership qualities. People question the age of Ibanez but from what I've read, he is like in the best shape of any 36 year old on the planet.

With the recent history of bad pitching in Philly (not counting last year) I dont like getting Park.. but hopefully Philly will use him right (an inning or two here or there and mostly having his ass on the seat). Hope we pick up another strong starter though, but Hamels, Myers, Moyer, Blanton, Happ, etc.. should be okay.

Park was o.k. for us. There is more wrong with his head than his arm. He is pretty good if you're ahead by a couple runs already(or trying to stay only a run behind.) Would avoid pressure situations as much as possible with this individual. If you're down by a couple runs, the guy can really pitch pretty well. I guess he is a situational pitcher. I think Chan Ho must of cost Canon some dollar. He never has anything good to say about him. I guess we all hate a choke though. He had 79 strike outs in 95 innings. So, he has still got some decent junk to throw. Look at what this choke made in a 6 year period. What a country.

2001 $9,900,000
2002 $11,000,000
2003 $12,000,000
2004 $13,879,164
2005 $15,000,000
2006 $15,333,679
