Default 20 years since Sunday Silence vs. Easy Goer in the Preakness

Ironic, but it's been 20 years since arguably the best Preakness matchup of all time, certainly in recent memory. It made quite an impression on TV and the youtube vids of it still get reaction to this day.

I wish Pimlico could use this angle to market the Preakness. Yeah, I know they are in dire straits and now the whole eminent domain/Magna bankruptcy issue is the bigger part of the Preakness' fate.

Now would be a great year to get that Triple Crown winner we've been wanting for so long.

I'm hoping to do some video segments for the NYRA site building up to the Belmont and I surely plan to cover that rivalry.

He's now lost two crappy allowance races at GP. It hasn't been pretty for the Count since June 7.

No idea - but I had the pick 4 a couple times for a $1 if Denis of Cork would have won - and I seem to remember it paying something like $1,400 to him.

Denis of Cork's 97 is the all-time lowest Beyer ever earned in a 3rd place finish in the Derby.

That was some group of 3yo's last year.

'93 was horrible though - I think Bullintheheather won the Florida Derby - Storm Tower won the Wood - Personal Hope won the Santa Anita Derby and Rockomundo won the Arkasnas Derby at 100/1

I think Afleet Alex held that distinction prior to that with a 98, which was a bogus figure anyways because there was no way they would ever give the Derby winner less than a 100 even though it should have been about a 96-97.

trivia... who ended up being the best sire from the 1993 Derby? (hint: it ain't sayin' much about the group)
