5/23: Belmont; Arlington; Hollywood (P4's); Louisville H.
Outrageous holiday weekend of racing action kicks off the summer season Saturday with deep fields and compelling stakes across the map. Arlington has the intense slate with a stakes quad today, while Belmont, Monmouth and Hollywood all commence three day weekends highlighted by quality features. Churchill, Golden Gate, Calder, Philadelphia and Woodbine all have rich events on at least one of their holiday schedules, and Lone Star will draw their 6 stake (3 graded) Monday overnight today.
As discussed all week on "At the Races", momentum from highly-viewed and loud buzz Preakness has potential to carry over into meat of the sport's calendar, with the low cost appeal of "A Day at the Races", highly marketable to an entertainment-hungry public. Do what you can to take advantage and drag friends with you to the oval this weekend! My P4 looks at NY, Chicago and Los Angeles to get things started... Have a safe, enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend! Posted at 3:35 AM and edited at 5:23 AM? Are you a Terminator and never need to sleep? :-)
Thanks for the early morning reading material though. Love the show and all you do to promote racing.

Great job again today Steve.....
Thanks again Steve for helping some of us multi-race challenged people. I know Belmont didnt exactly work out, but if a player would have worked with what you laid out, it was there to be had. Also in great position at Hollywood!!!!!!!!!!!

Great job Steve, you helped me get in the right mindset of singling Giant Oak on top and I threw in Kent's horse just because of the price underneath for a nice exacta to end the day, thanks!

Congratulations on some very nice work on that AP Pick-4.
Including Euphony in the Matron sure was a good call. I didn't see that one at all. |

Thanks very much all for the kind words... It was obviously a great day start to finish, but I'm obligated to acknowledge leaving $1,600 on the table in the Belmont P4 when I failed to use my 4th horse, red-hot Pat Kelly's Joey's Chance. Was glad the rest of the day didn't go in that agonizing direction.
Those that tuned in to ATR Thursday/Friday should have done very well with Marcus Hersch having sung the praises of Euphony and Giant Oak, Buff Bradley telling you why Brass Hat was ready and Shug oozing confidence in his Chicago starts (Vacation and Consequence). Will not play as widely today with Belmont carryover the focus... Hope those that used the selections 'got some' Saturday! Thanks again.
