Default Royal Ascot chit chat

Thought maybe instead of posting on the Greak Freak, best horse you won't be seeing and HK threads we could have one place for this....

On the King's Stand...

Only two horses you need to consider to have avery happy Royal Ascot....

J J The Jet Plane

and

Canford Cliffs - my 14/1 about him winning the Coventry looks very good now. Best 2yo Hannon has got.

No love for the Sacred one?

I'm a big JJ fan too.

Im a fan of both.. JJ was so impressive at Windsor the other night and that will have put him spot on. Sacred Kingdom will have to be a machine to beat him..

I like Sacred Kingdom, but to me, he is a flashy sprinter. When he comes up against a very tough horse like JJ, he could find things getting a bit difficult for him. He seems to enjoy winning races easily and he won't be able to do that at Royal Ascot. I just think that JJ will have not only a race fitness edge, but he also looks like the Ideal type to win a big field sprint over a stiff six furlongs.

I'm most looking forward to Canford Cliffs though. I was told about him the day before he made his racecourse debut. The words, which I heard down the phone "best 2yo that hannon has by far" and after witnessing Monsieur Chevallier, you knew that this one was something special. He spreadeagled subsequent winners on his debut and will only improve.

Looking forward to seeing the American horses, I hope they do well. I've heard that the Queen Mary candidate looks a right tool

The Florida-breds are always a bit ahead of the 'northern-bred' foals in the earlier parts of the 2yo season over here. They get to be outside all the time in nice weather down in the Sunshine State as foals and it gives them a head-start. Will be fascinating to see if they have that sort of physical advantage over the GBs and IREs.

That was a bit special. 6 lengths, and could have been more.
