Default Breeders Cup - Vegas

Heading to Vegas for Breeders Cup. Going with the wife. Can anyone recommend a placew to stay and play? Can you reserve a spot in a race book for Breeders Cup? Any advice would be appreciated.

Agreed - if you're traveling west, make a real trip out of it and go to L.A. spend Friday and Saturday at the live races then head over to Vegas for Sunday and Monday, you won't regret it ...

You'll have better customer service in Vegas than you will at the track. The Wynn book is awesome and the LV Hilton has a great one, too.

The BC live is tough to beat, especially at a place like Santa Anita. Any of you who haven't been really need to as it is one of the most pleasant places to watch a race on the planet. The backdrop is unbeatable, the seating is comfortable and the set-up at the track itself (concessions, parking) is outstanding.

There's something incredibly unique and entertaining about watching them come down off that hill live. You have no appreciation for it until you've seen it.

If you do decide on Vegas the Hilton is a good spot based on the rooms being inexpensive, the racebook being solid, and the staff is top notch. The Orleans is another racing oriented place and the rooms there are inexpensive.

Of course, Bellagio and Wynn are the cream of the crop.

was just out there in march for the tourney and i thought the orleans was great if you're looking to get away from the stip crowd. it caters to locals and though its not huge its a pretty solid book. I used to swear by bally's, but i went out there this year and it was a mad house, ZERO seats for race players (though it was tourney time), so i took my business to the Orleans and had a great time. The bellagio is very solid as well, but they didn't offer too many "race only" tellers. the one huge knock i have on that place is that there is ZERO lighting, its sort of set up like a night club where the whole book is extremely dim, even with the desk lamps and the leather recliners they provide its hard to read your sheets. Word is the station casinos are pretty racing friendly as well.

this year, i got my ticket to the BC, whether i go or not is a different story

Plus, if you like Japanese food/sushi, I can tell you where to go to get to one of the best places in the country, at a surprisingly reasonable price!

Encore, the new tower at Wynn. Send wife to the incredible spa. She will "thank you" for it. Reserve a seat with race book director John Avello.
