Default Teen Sailor in peril

This is the young woman attempting to solo circumnavigate the globe. Hope she can be rescued. She's 16. Her brother did it at 17. I can't even imagine.

Quote:
A multi-national search and rescue operation has been launched after emergency beacons onboard 16-year-old Abby Sunderland's boat were triggered when the young American adventurer ran into huge waves hundreds of kilometres from land early this morning.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) says a Qantas Airbus is heading to the search zone, which is about 3,600 kilometres from the WA coast.

AMSA spokeswoman Carly Lusk says conditions in the search area are poor, with 90 kilometre per hour winds and a six-metre swell.

She says the signals coming from the two beacons Sunderland has activated - one attached to her body and another attached to her boat - suggest she is still in the boat.

I hope they find her and send her parents the bill and execute them if they can't pay for raising an attention whore with no regard for anyone but herself.

i hope they find her and send the parents congratulations on raising a self-confident child.

just because she's in the news doesn't make her an attention whore, pants.

Yeah that's the reason why she's an attention whore because she's in the news. Not because she's doing something that's extremely dangerous that very few people gave a s.hit about until she went missing.

i'd rather raise a kid that broke an arm climbing a tree than one afraid to climb trees.

even if there's a chance the kid gets more than a broken arm.

she's not on espn jumping over a las vegas monument on new years eve. she's sailing around the world solo.

Yeah because this is totally like climbing a tree. No big deal.

Hell two more posts from you and I might start hoping she dies.
