Default When you come, do you scream?

... and are you the type who yells at the jocks and calls all the horses by their numbers only or are you the quiet type (well what didja think I was talking about in the heading you pervs? )?

At the track, do you always hang out in the same area? Do you stay in one place or go to the paddock and the finish line, anywhere and everywhere?

Do you drink? Drink too much? Eat? Get there early for workouts and stay all day? Leave after the big race?

Do you cap the night before or when you're there?

Do you have superstitions... a good luck charm of any kind?

Are you the type who smacks the form during the races and who barks out orders to the jocks?

Do you bring your kids, your significant other or go with friends? Alone?

How much does it annoy you when you're in line and the race is about to go off and the person in front of you has no clue what they're doing? Do you feel like you're going to have a heart attack, going to kill them, or both?

When you make a great hit do you announce it to the people around you? Do you congratulate strangers if they're nearby and you know they nailed whatever race?

Are you helpful to new-to-the-sport types or do you wish they would go the fuc* home?

Do you tip the tellers?

Do you get dressed up at all? Go to the turf club? Hang with the lowlifes? Have a table at a restaurant for the day kinda thing?

Tell me what it's like when you go to the track and which track you usually go to!

Now that Saratoga has the greatest place on earth with their paddock bar, there is no need to go anywhere else

Quiet

At the track, do you always hang out in the same area? Do you stay in one place or go to the paddock and the finish line, anywhere and everywhere?

One place. Usually clubhouse.

Do you drink? Drink too much? Eat? Get there early for workouts and stay all day? Leave after the big race?

I take bong rip breaks between races

Do you cap the night before or when you're there?

Both

Do you have superstitions... a good luck charm of any kind?

12 troll dolls I put on the table and a miniature slot machine

Are you the type who smacks the form during the races and who barks out orders to the jocks?

No. I just usually say God Damnit if I lose a head bob for a decent payout.

Do you bring your kids, your significant other or go with friends? Alone?

Loner

How much does it annoy you when you're in line and the race is about to go off and the person in front of you has no clue what they're doing? Do you feel like you're going to have a heart attack, going to kill them, or both?

I consider it a sign that baby Jesus didn't want me to bet that race.

When you make a great hit do you announce it to the people around you? Do you congratulate strangers if they're nearby and you know they nailed whatever race?

No. When I hit it's to the exits.

Are you helpful to new-to-the-sport types or do you wish they would go the fuc* home?

I keep to myself. Track people are scary.

Do you tip the tellers?

Depends.

Do you get dressed up at all? Go to the turf club? Hang with the lowlifes? Have a table at a restaurant for the day kinda thing?

I'm always dressed. Unless I'm real high.

Tell me what it's like when you go to the track and which track you usually go to!

Haven't been to live racing this year.

Yeah I have names for them. I had to throw 3 of them away and I replaced them with Smooth Operator, CSC and Riot

I don't believe "thudding" is allowed at most tracks.

... and are you the type who yells at the jocks and calls all the horses by their numbers only or are you the quiet type (well what didja think I was talking about in the heading you pervs? )?

I'm pretty quiet until I see my horse/horses on the front end the final quarter.

At the track, do you always hang out in the same area? Do you stay in one place or go to the paddock and the finish line, anywhere and everywhere?

Pretty much all over the place but spend the most amount of time in our seats.

Do you drink? Drink too much? Eat? Get there early for workouts and stay all day? Leave after the big race?

We bring our own food and drink. We arrive about a half hour before the
1st race and leave after the BIG race.

Do you cap the night before or when you're there?

Sometimes night before; usually morning of but have changed our minds when we get to the track

Do you have superstitions... a good luck charm of any kind?

I don't bring too much money.

Are you the type who smacks the form during the races and who barks out orders to the jocks?

No, but I did tell Calvin not to let anyone push him around in The Woodward last year.

Do you bring your kids, your significant other or go with friends? Alone?

Go with my husband. It took years of cultivating, but he's now a really big fan and a pretty good handicapper

How much does it annoy you when you're in line and the race is about to go off and the person in front of you has no clue what they're doing? Do you feel like you're going to have a heart attack, going to kill them, or both?

Yes , yes, yes, and yes

When you make a great hit do you announce it to the people around you? Do you congratulate strangers if they're nearby and you know they nailed whatever race?

Only if they ask, and I never hesitate to congratulate anyone

Are you helpful to new-to-the-sport types or do you wish they would go the fuc* home?

I can deal with ignorance but not stupidity

Do you tip the tellers?

If I hit a good win and they sold me the ticket, I'll share a bit with them.

Do you get dressed up at all? Go to the turf club? Hang with the lowlifes? Have a table at a restaurant for the day kinda thing?

Pretty much get dressed up - love to wear hats. We reserve seats. We stop by Carolina Barbecue and chat with Steve a bit, we'll do a 7th race stretch, and visit the paddock when there's a horse/horses that we want ro see up close and in person.

Tell me what it's like when you go to the track and which track you usually go to!

It's heaven in Saratoga.

I bitch at the tv and or computer A LOT. Even when I win or am winning. There is always something that annoys me.

Depends what track. At Saratoga, I'm almost always at the video replay machines all day - doing trip notes for the races from the day prior in between betting. At PID, I'm almost always at my fathers table in the clubhouse - on the laptop.

I lose my edge when I drink alchool. I become a lot less salty, focused, and bitchy - a lot more pleasant and less focused. I drink lots of pop. It keeps me edgy.

If I'm not screwing around - I already have the work done by that point and it's about just adjusting to the odds and trying to determine the correct way to be the race.

Not really a superstition - but whenever I get a real costly bad break I back off with my betting and try to be more careful. Your instincts are to get mad and start pressing and betting a lot more without thinking clear is how you get killed.

It depends. My favorite cheer is "come on with the juice!" ... I reserve that cheer only for when I'm betting horses solely based on a key trainer change.

My laptop. My father is there like the furnature - so I see him and a lot of the same other horseplayers a lot.

I always buy a betting voucher because of this.

I like to pretend to be pissed that the horse didn't win by a larger margin. The horse could be 40/1 and win by 5 lengths - and the margin of victory wasn't good enough for me. This goes over really well with other people who have to listen to it.

It depends. If they are hopeless I won't waste my time.

As cheap as I am - and even though I bet on the computer and use vouchers - I still do. I mess around with the tellers all day. I know mostly all of them pretty well.

Couldn't care less what I look like. There's no hot girls up there to impress - other than a few waitress ... and after hearing me bitch at a computer screen and tv screen all day .. that would discourage anyone.
