Default 9/29 show

What a treat to hear Hal Wiggins talk about Rachel Alexandra this morning. What a gentleman. When he said (I'm paraphrasing) that had he owned Rachel he'd most likely have entered her in the Kentucky Derby, I got goosebumps thinking about the possibilities. Then, the lead up and race call for the Woodward . . . just tremendous!

Thx OD! Thought it would be nice to swing back around and get Wiggins' thoughts and retrospective on the occasion. He was great to be around leading up to Oaks, and remains a real gentleman about everything that went on with the filly. I first got to know him in 1990 with a colt named Perfect Sleeper, and was pleased to see him get into the spotlight like he did with a once in a lifetime horse.

The show was "best of" worthy. Thanks Steve. Since I heard the news of Rachels retirement I was anxious to hear your thoughts on it. Glad you dedicated a good portion of the show to her.

Looking forward to hearing Baffert or Pegram on Real Quiet. That would be awesome if you could pull that off.

Also any chance you could have William Nack on your show with the occasion of the Secretariat movie opening next friday?
I would love to hear his thoughts on the movie and his induction into racing's hall of fame. Heck I'd even love to hear his thoughts on Rachel's retirement and the upcoming Breeders Cup. Nack thought that Real Quiet should have won the triple crown BTW so I'm sure he'd have some thoughts on his untimely passing.

Any chance of this happening Steve?

S/B,

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed Haskin and Wiggins. Will get to Baffert next week on Real Quiet. Figured with preparations for this weekend for Lucky and several others, that it wasn't the best time to have him. Certainly can have Nack any time. There's no occasion in racing or otherwise that he wouldn't be happy to visit!
