MOW is my favorite horse ever, so thank you for posting. Even as a weanling, he held his head like that - like he was far superior to everyone around him.

Pretty great to read that and see the picture. I'm with Barbara, the only "Big Red" to me is Man O'War. All due respect to Secretariat, "tremendous machine" sticks in my heard more with him, in the way that "incomparable, invincible, unbeatable" is gonna give you the name Cigar every time. Those phrases aren't exactly barn names, but they're attached to a specific horse in a special way. How many chestnuts of substantial size get the Big Red nickname? Still, I hear it and I only ever think of one horse.
