![]() I'm painfully sorry.
I know that it hurts but try to remember you made a difference to him... made his life better... more joyful. I hope someday soon you can remember him and smile again. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwVwJ18Z4-o On the evening of November 13th ReRun lost one of our most beloved horses...Eastover Faith. Eastie, as he was know, succumbed to complications due to melanomas, benign tumors that grays are prone to get as they age. These tumors inhibited Eastie's ability to pass manure and he coliced. His foster mom maintained him comfortably for quite a while, dealing with these growths. However, on that Saturday evening Eastie could not be made comfortable and was humanely euthanized by our veterinarian. Eastover Faith was born and bred in Maryland roughly 15 years ago. While there, he raced for over 5 years and earned an incredible $223,000. He was retired at age 6 due to injuries acquired from his long career. He came to ReRun where his foster mom, Diana, at Lumber Jack Farm nursed him back to health. From there he was adopted out briefly, but it quickly became evident that his injuries would prevent him from being ridden comfortably, and he was once again placed in the loving hands of Lumber Jack Farm. Everyone at ReRun and all his supporters will miss him a great deal. His foster mom, Diana, says it best: "Eastie was like no other, never aggressive when sharing the role as ‘Head of The Herd’ with best pal Infinite Crescendo, also known as Cheny. He was stoic, so large, so grey, and always a silent, commanding presence. I feel privileged having been part of his golden years as pasture pal, fundraiser and so much more. I’d like to pass on a quote from a donor in response to Eastie's article in the New York Time several years back: ’He inspired me to keep trying to save the ones that can no longer be ridden. For horses are so much more than entertainment, transportation, and meat….something most will never realize.’ Thanks for everything Easty Beasty!” All my love Diana, Dan and all the animals at Lumber Jack Farm. ReRun would also like to thank everyone who has sponsored him throughout the years and those who have also sent in memorial donations in his honor. He will be missed. A special sponsor of Eastie’s has made a video tribute to him on youtube. Click here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwVwJ18Z4-o) to see the tribute.
